My hunch (for it is only that, I make no claim to any kid of expertise in this area) is that on the day the Tories will get a vote share towards the lower end of the range forecasted by the different pollsters, and Reform will do better. This will, of course, harm the Tories in terms of numbers of seats without necessarily gaining more than the predicted 1 or 2 for Reform. Shame. The reason I'm saying this is that I'm seeing lots of stuff on social media to suggest that there is a very sizeable chunk of the population who have never given up believing the bollocks the Tories have been spouting about Europe, immigration, etc., but have stopped believing the Tories are competent enough to do what they say they are going to do and are switching to Reform (yes, I know). Add to that the half-baked ideology of rejecting 'globalism' and all the shite about the WEF and you can see the hard-of-thinking (as well as those who are just nasty as opposed to stupid) moving to Reform in their droves.

The MRPs have no good news for Reform. First Past the Post will keep them cut off at the knees.

Earlier today, someone (@Pothunter I think?) talked about how Reform voters were dominating the comments in social posts by the main parties. I wonder if this down to the nature of the algorithms and the people most likely to comment/not comment on such posts. It feels as though the comments section in any political tweet by high profile posters can be quite toxic. So I wonder if the more rational Twitter users simply do not get involved as they view it as a waste of energy - and therefore what we see has been "pre-sieved". |

Yes, I think that's quite likely, fetch, and I try to take that into account when perusing the web and quietly fuming.

Farage has said today the demand for electoral reform will be utterly unstoppable after the election. On the one hand I tend to agree. Though the country will be happy and have the result it wants so I don’t think the voice will be too loud. |

Fewer people are going to take to Twitter to say something more mundane. By its nature it will vocalise more extreme or different views. |

But if Reform still poll 15-18% of the total popular vote, especially with the way that Farage has turned himself into a single figurehead for his party, he will have plenty of sway and influence, surely? Or will Reform become the Momentum of the Right over the course of the next Parliament?
