We should have engaged in vigorous debate. Anyway, the European states were capitalist hegemonies so smashing them up would have done everyone a favour, even if it meant fascists taking over. We'd be living in a socialist utopia by now if it wasn't for those pesky Allied soldiers!

Yeah what jda said It doesn’t feel like it’s worth answering that question J2R tbh given you already know the answer from previous occasions it’s been asked. For what it’s worth, I could only answer for myself anyway not whatever “we” represents. I’ve already been told by the inspector clouseau of FE that my views are to “cover up a basic lack of moral fibre” and that as I “refuse to defend the freedoms that their country affords them, it's hard to have much sympathy”. I’m pretty certain the person who wrote that doesn’t go as far as to support the shooting those who won’t fight, and anyway at least I didn’t pretend to be a veteran for two decades so perhaps they’d get the bullet with my name on anyway 🤷🏻♂️ |

Quick legal check- don't know if anyone here is steeped in this or not? Is what Israel's forces are doing in Gaza against Geneva convention? In my view it's morally indefensible , bit might it be strictly legal? Moving people forcibly not permitted. But giving warnings to civilians to move to avoid civilian casualties is actively encouraged. And bombing civilian locations, such as schools, hospitals, and residential area is not permitted. But that protection is lost if those locations are used by the defenders for military purposes. That's my reading of the convention? Does that all let Israel govt off? Still morally unacceptable imho but interested if Netanyahu and others would have a legal case to answer? |

Of course it's not legal, it's genocide by any reasonable interpretation.

I think you’ve answered yourself :)G ; it’s the “human shield” defence isn’t it? If Israel “believes” those places are being used for military purposes then they are fair game. The various middle east wars opened that defence.

Meanwhile my “local” PM has resigned very quickly after being implicated in grabbing money (possibly EU money) for projects with little chance of being financially viable. Seems they spurged loads of money into a Lithium extraction scheme with such low Li content that it could never become economically productive.

bbc.co.uk Sunak has "full confidence" in Braverman. Well, looks like her time is up (in Sunak's govt) then. If that's her endgame anyway, we could be in for a few weeks of fun and games at the top of the Tory party again. |

Like I said they're just fighting each other now. They know they've lost and all just gesturing for either being leader or what kind of leader they want.

It probably suits Sunak to have the deranged Suella around - he can choose a time to dismiss her to make himself look “strong and decisive”
