If only they had the power to put her expenses etc under the microscope and magically find something to suspend her for. I mean, there's going to be something |

I think the underlying theme seems to be “ Give up any ideas of increasing levels of prosperity. This is it now, and you are gonna have to get used to what you’re given.”

Surely 'the market' will sort out the situation with the 'economically inactive'? Or have I misunderstood labour market equilibrium and how it is supposed to work? It's almost as if its all total bollox. |

Do the Tories even bother to talk about the awaiting sunlit uplands anymore? They seem to have given up. The next election will focus on bashing Labour I guess. Given it will be 14 years since the last Labour govt and the Brexit generation are rapidly aging out I doubt it is gonna work this time around.

Mel Stride fails to understand that a lot of over 50's not working are there by choice & have interest in doing work at all. Seems fairly obvious that this governments plan is to force as many people into work as possible to make it an employers market. |

Folk like Stride don’t understand the desire to retire, because working for them is a following an ideology where their aim is to grab as much cash & power for them & their ilk as possible.

Seems fairly obvious that this governments plan is to force as many people into work as possible to make it an employers market. See also why all political parties, big business etc was in favour of EU membership to do ability to leverage cheap labour |
