I totally understand your frustration. Absolutely. What I don't understand is "And there's not a cat in hell's chance of me voting for a party if their best line is "we're not as shit" as them. Even/especially if them is the shittest government ever." Because same as Fields. It's not a reason to vote for them. I was more answering the question of "who is least bad" rather than current Labour manifesto/policy, etc, but if that's the best they can come up with, then no I won't be voting for them. It was probably a flippant answer to a hypothetically nonsense question, which I paraphrased into more hypothetical nonsense. |

You vote for whoever has the best chance of beating the worst choice. Where I live there is an area of local fascists and local elections have thrown up far right success. A good friend of mine, who is what I would call a true socialist voted Tory and actually campaigned for them to keep out the far right. It's about pragmatism not idealism. That, and not making shit choices liking voting for Brexit, UKIP etc

But I still don't understand. What's the alternative? Apart from getting involved in politics yourself, which would be great but most of us don't.

I suppose it depends how much you can hold your nose. Right now I can't see any other choice for me to vote than Green, even though I'll be about one of only a handful of people here doing so. |

The amount of time some folk spend on here moaning is incredible. If they spent a fraction of it lobbying their local MP, doorstepping for their choice, leafletting, talking to youngsters etc they'd have a much better chance of making a change. Get involved. Join a Union if you can. Become active. Oh, and don't feed the bastard trolls
