"Sun passing legal difficulties to BBC - former Guardian editor The Sun is effectively passing over the legal difficulties involved in its story about the unnamed presenter to the BBC by not naming them, the former editor of the Guardian has said.
Normally, a newspaper would name a person it was accusing of wrongdoing, Alan Rusbridger told Sky News, suggesting it was "curious" the Sun had not yet done so.
"If the story was pitched as high as they were pitching it initially.. they could have argued the public interest defence in court if there was subsequent legal action."
Rusbridger said it felt to him that the Sun was not "entirely on solid ground" - and was instead "goading the BBC into trying to do their dirty work for them"."
They've fucked it and now they're scapegoating the BBC for something something something. What a crew of rats.

He's now been accused of a second, potentially not illegal, activity.
Though I fail, at least right now, to see what the public interest in this story.
Except it's the right-wing media vs BBC by proxy war.

I hadn't even realised he was having yet another child, never mind she's given birth. And of course, he's named him after his favourite Greek philandering hero.

On the removed post, on Twitter recently there have been several cases where Tory mps or bigwigs go after *every single person* who simply retweeted something potentially libelous with their lawyers claiming thousands of pounds off each person, refusing *any* kind of deal. Big money maker (Russ Jones - a week in Tory guy fell foul of this - and he regretfully paid up). So my advice even if you think you're safe here, you're probably not. I didn't see the post and fortunately I'm none the wiser.
Hopefully someone nails the Sun to the wall over this (as they're attempting to do with Tucker Carlson over Capitol comments and Fox news), I wouldn't want to be collateral damage on what otherwise might be a great day.

I think the value of any claim in a libel action is related to the number of people who can read or view. I thought Fetch forums were only visible when logged in, but just checked and they are open to public to read. So they come up in Google searches. 100K ish Fetch readers vs Google (4.3Bn) - ah! G
