I wouldn’t do a Tony Martin if that’s what you’re suggesting Boffin. But I’m sure whatever I suggest you will tell me how I’m wrong or inconsistent 🤷🏻♂️. I’ll just have to agree to disagree with you on this. Ironic to be attacked for being a pacifist |

Are you a pacifist is you just watch someone murder your neighbours without doing anything about it?

No, Fields is like Trump. If he wins, the result is true and fair. If he loses, the result is corrupt and unacceptable.

It was a simple question Fields; what would you do? Not what somebody else may or may not do. I am not in any position to tell you what is right or wrong; that is for you to decide. I am not attacking you for your views, far from it. It remains to be seen whether I agree or disagree with your views; however I will defend your right to free speech of your views. |

How far does 'free speech' extend? I'd say that the current Home Secretary is testing those boundaries?

I do hold the opinion that there needs to be no limits on free speech. Extreme views (and by extension, extremists) are required. With such extreme opposing views the consensus opinion should find a happy middle ground. Where it goes pear shaped is when those in policy making positions have, and thus can action, extreme views. |

Calling for someone's death, and being in a position to bring it about... I think free speech HAS to have limits.

Extreme views by definition are not palatable, however censoring free speech simply drives such views underground making actions much harder for any society to engage with and address.

Rather have them underground than people being abused openly under the guise of free speech.

You cannot have absolute free speech in a civilised society. There must always be limits. Where those limits lie is par for political discourse and activist pressure. Saying no limits is pure libertarianism and so as flawed as the rest of that damaged ideology I also find that those on the libertarian wing who call for "unencumbered" free speech aren't really interested in free speech. They're interested in freedom to say often actually want the freedom to say what they want without criticism. Often using the platform and megaphone they've been provided and complain about others having freedom of speech. |
