Only Liz Truss could have made Boris look like a safe(r) pair of hands. There was caution advised on this thread for under-estimating Truss; misplaced I think! |

Is it possible they appoint Boris only for an as yet uncovered scandal from his last stint forces him to resign. I think he's still under investigation by the privileges committee. So it might not even need be an uncovered scandal. |

There was caution advised on this thread for under-estimating Truss; According to a piece in the Guardian from about day 0, that's almost an exact quote from the Labour party too. |

The Tory Party rule book makes provision for the solo nomination election. *But* it seems to only be valid in the event that only one candidate is put forward for the first round of nominations (i.e. before the first ballot). twitter.com (tweeter may or may not closely resemble me, but it's an easy way to post a screenshot!) |
