So, parties in No10 during lockdown. "After PMQs, Johnson’s press secretary gave a sometimes confusing series of responses at a media briefing, repeatedly refusing to explain why No 10 said it did not recognise the reports about the parties, and how they could have met Covid rules at the time." No denials, just "don't recognise the reports" whatever that actually means when not using political doublespeak. The "one rule for them, another rule for everyone else" saga continues. |

I wonder how they feel about a man who obliges them to lie repeatedly in people's faces to cover up his shitty, selfish behaviour?

Work for the Tory Party. Leave your self-worth, embarrassment, shame and honour at the door on entry. |

Following this clown and his gang of headcases has brought us very low. When will we be rid of him?

But to be fair, he does tell a great tale about Peppa Pig World. Just what's required from someone holding down the job of PM.

It's like Gove lying fire Cummings all over again isn't it. They are saying the party meet all the rules, except the one about not having parties, the one the rest of us followed. That's the line labour, SNP et al need to be hammering home to the hard of thinking. |

It's not on the BBC, interestingly (web, I haven't watched telly news for a while and haven't hear radio news this morning yet). G

Not on BBC? Maybe you get a different BBC up there? On the politics page, not a front page 'headline' bbc.co.uk |

I've just realised the date of this party. That day, I had plans to visit my parents to help them set up their computer to video call my kids at Christmas (and pass on some presents). I originally had a hotel booked in Maidstone, but that went Tier 3 a few weeks prior. This meant I could still make my visit, but it had to be outdoors in a public place. Hotels were closed to all but essential workers. I moved my hotel to Bexleyheath and planned to drive to Maidstone, visit in a park, and drive back. London went Tier 3. I then moved my hotel to Crawley, which was Tier 2, drove an hour each way to spend just over an hour with my parents, and drove back to the hotel - where I enjoyed a single pint of beer as I was having it with a substantial meal, which I couldn't do at home in Tier 3 Grimsby. While all this was going on ABdPJ was having a massive boozy party for him and dozens of hangers-on, in his house. The following day I couldn't even see my brother through a window, as London went to Tier 4 and I wasn't allowed to drive in or out. Still, so long as the mightiest office of State was able to have a boozy party for all his acolytes, I should probably be grateful that it took three different hotel bookings, and a total of 12 hours of driving, to see my mum and dad for an hour on a picnic bench in a freezing cold country park. |
