I like the inference that people like Thornberry are the people with patriotism problems when Johnson et al are straining every sinew to *actually* destroy the country in its current form.

Seems a perfectly sensible comment to me..

Did Thornberry actually say anything about the England flags? I seem to recall her posting a photo of an estate with lots of flags with just "Medway" or wherever underneath, and she then got monstered for a bunch of things she didn't necessarily express.

I do like that Henning Wehn quote - compare and contrast to Jacob Rees-Mogg on food banks: theguardian.com

She tweeted "Image from Rochester" in 2014, resigned etc.

In comparison with what gets tweeted now (for example, Farage deriding the RNLI, the calls for Remainers to be "re-educated", with all of the undertones), it's pretty tame.

Which group of individuals should receive the more robust policing response?

Soccer hooligans rioting, taking drugs in public and attacking children.

Women peacefully protesting after the murder of Sarah Everard by a police officer who had a track record of sexual harassing behaviour, indecent exposure, and a nickname of “rapist”.

Answers to Cressida Dick who clearly has no clue.

That question did go through my mind as well last night.

I also thought the quite appropriate outrage by BJ at the insults levelled at parts of the England Team would have more impact were it not for his own inappropriate comments in the past.
