Boris self isolating! Contact with someone who has tested positive. Gets him out of his big week coming up...

I am extremely sceptical of an extension happening.
For one, all the EU countries would have to agree to it + EU parl.
*If* there is a deal, then I can see a (short) *implementation* period or something similar to allow the UK to transition to the new rules (Yes, this is what was supposed to happen in the transition period).
This would be most likely because there will be details needing to be clarified, sorted etc between EU and UK (I can't see everything being sorted properly in 2 weeks...).
*But* this requires reality to seep into the UK negotiating team (and recognising that despite the govt telling businesses to be "ready" via an expensive advert on TV, businesses have largely no idea what rules they're going to be following, so cannot possibly get ready. Nor could they in 2 weeks) and all evidence exists to the contrary that our hardcore Brexiter negotiating team (remember that all it would take to get a great deal was believing hard enough in the cause...) has any fix on reality whatsoever...

Perhaps Boris should be more interested in running the country than shagging women?

Agree there are hurdles, but kicking the can down the road is in fact the easiest thing to complete (from a political will perspective). Nobody wins/looses nobody conceeds/gives ground. - We will "not be out by New Year" of course, but I don't think that would be as politically damaging for Boris as the fallout from we have no deal, and lets wait for the expected car crash of trade goods log Jam in February. Plus I don't think Farage has the hold he once had to make hay with that outcome. With the Brexit boys going I hope(!?) that perhaps we have a turning towards some more moderate Conservative influence in cabinet. The UK does tend to mirror the US and more moderate and liberal tone from the US will find its influence here.
What I hope we don't have however is an exit with a number of stupid meaningless side-agreements creating a make believe of a worthy deal.
Even at this late stage I am glass half full on the chances of something actually half sensible coming out from this. Realise I am in the minority on this in this thread - and I am setting myself up for a fall - , but the road blocks are political not technical - it will only take one conversation to move this. And Boris really, really, really, needs some positive news. Even a bad deal will start to look positive from his perspective.

A drowning man will clutch at straws. The long term damage will still be with us, however, and no amount of denial bullshit is going to change that.

So the prime minister can't get a rapid test and had to self isolate for 2 weeks entirely coincidentally as the government seeks a reset and he can make a show or of following the rules.
Two small problems with this.
There are no coincidences No one believes him

That is the problem, when he has lied so much when do you know he is telling the truth.
Trust and honesty long left the party.

Nellers have you got a news article collating those links, or is that something you've personally assembled? It would be good to have a list of these explanations for posting to social media...
