Cheg: Do you mean the outgoing pres is always invited or ALL the living former presidents are invited? I've never paid that much attention to it to have seen one way or the other.

By convention, the previous president is supposed to attend the inauguration, I guess as part of the pagentry to demonstrate a peaceful transfer of power.
I would put the odds of Trump attending in Jan of less than 20%
He'll be off somewhere tweeting about the size of his....crowd
That or holding a rally to kick off his 2024 campaign.
