I think it was the joke thread that set him off. He set up a joke and didn’t appreciate the inevitable response.

I don't even really see it as the first alt right step, although I see that rabid Quitters are pretty much brown shirted and Jack booted, but that's just the foot soldiers.
I see it more as the road to taking workers rights back to Dickensian standards and not having the option to piss off to the EU is part of having is by the balls.

If only he were as smart as he thinks he is.
He'd not only have seen that coming, he might have made some useful and interesting contributions rather than coming across as merely a self-righteous contrarian, then people wouldn't have enjoyed winding him up so much.
Ah well.
I wonder how much longer nouveau Jovi will hang around.
I should probably apologise for the potty mouth incident last week, by the way.
It was a monumentally shitty week at the coal face, though.
This one is proving much better.

Chrisull, I agree that the most pressing thing for anyone with at least mildly socialist leanings to do what they can to ensure that labour win in the next GE. The first major task is helping ensure that Labour have an effective leader.
I have been encouraged by the recent hustings. Starmer continues to present himself well. Nandy has come for relative obscurity to present herself as quick-witted and sensible. Long-Bailey has been fairly prosaic. While L-B did get the expected support from McClusky et al, her support from other unions has not been overwhelming.
April is still several months away. Nonetheless, at this stage it appears unlikely that any of the three leading contenders will get more than 50% on the first round. However, it seems to me that there is a reasonable chance that the final run-off will be Nandy v Starmer. To me either of these two is acceptable.

Raemond - we've all been there, I did point out it was seemingly out of character for you. Sorry it hasn't picked up much.
Canute - yes I think Nandy vs Starmer would be a good final two, and I'd be happy with whoever showed they could convince people the better.
