Not far wrong Raemond. We like our leaders to be privileged. Blair was at Fettes, in his time in charge he saw off Hague (Wath Comp), IDS (Bishop Glancey SM, Solihull), and Howard (Llanelli Boys' Grammar) Next time power changed, Cameron (Eton) and Clegg (Westminster) saw off Brown (Kirkaldy High), and in that time Miliband of Haverstock Comp and Jeremy Corbyn of Haberdashers' Adams, with only a brief and relatively unsuccessful hiatus with Theresa May of Wheatley Park Comp (who failed to win a majority) getting in the way of Johnson (Eton's) continuation of the posh boys' return to power. Kier puts on a good posh boys' show, but Reigate Grammar ain't Eton! |

Let me dip in to reference the Derek MacKay resignation. Honestly what it is with the number of Scottish politicians across the parties and glaringly inappropriate behaviour? Alex Salmond case starts next month as well so we may see the SNP keep their heads down for a little while. Meantime the minor shit-slinging between UK and Edinburgh governments that emerges over the COP26 (maybe the most important political / climate conference ever) just serves to demonstrate if more demonstration were needed, how ineffective our representatives North of the border are.

Inappropriate behaviour is not the preserve of Scottish politicians. I say this not to defend MacKay, who's been completely stupid, but it's just not an argument that holds up to any scrutiny.

Fair comment. Being in the North East I feel we have had more than our fair shares of numpties over the past year when compared to the national average.

The interesting thing IMO is that he feels it necessary to resign. That seems to have pretty much gone by the board south of the border.

The SNP made a big thing of inappropriate behaviour at Westminster and in particular the tories when they first came to power in Scotland. However we are now seeing quite a few cases within the SNP (at least 3 others I can think of). I think some of this comes from people in power thinking they are in some way above the law.

Can someone tell me what he's actually done wrong? Media reports that the boy was 16. I may have missed something.
