It should never have been voted on and it has harmed this country massively. The fault lines that existed may have come apart anyway, but the referendum dynamited them. No good will come of this.

twitter.com I'm really quite sick of being told that Remainers are horrible and nasty for asking for reasons why Brexit is in any way good. I'm also weary of the notion that because we disagree we should shut up. After the flag burning last night and notices like the above, I think the "many reasonable Leavers" need to reflect a little about how we get our country out of this mess. |

I'm waiting for just one of the "Many reasonable leavers" to call out this sort of behaviour.

*watches the tumbleweed* It *was* all about sending the foreigners home. It's not racist though because they can't do anything about the brown ones. |

I say it’s good that folks continue to question how Brexit is doing and the false information some choose to give us.

I despair of the press holding the government to account on this and other Brexit-related matters. As Johnson drives us further and further up shit creek will they: a) Cheer every piece of boastful blustering and bullshit b) Characterise every misstep, reverse and setback as the fault of the EU c) Reflect that the game was, is and never will be worth the candle and call for a soft Brexit I'm going to go for a and b. |

Also, interesting that Jess Philips said yesterday that in all of her Mp's surgeries she cannot recall one constituent raising a complaint relating to the EU... As someone said in a column yesterday, far from Brexit "uniting the nation" it has in fact divided the nation in an unprecedented manner. This one won't be fixed easily... |
