....although the county palatine boundaries didnโ€™t change in โ€˜74. Queenie obviously didnโ€™t want to lose her rights in โ€˜74 ๐Ÿ˜€

macca, same goes for me - birthplace now in 'Merseyside'. But I lived in Lancashire my entire youth, in that I'd moved out into the county proper by the time 'Merseyside' came into existence. So I think that gives me the proper credentials to hate people from Yorkshire.

Yip, I always say I'm Scottish, never British.

Ah, when I used to deliver things for a living, large numbers of people still preferred to be known as living in Wirral rather than Merseyside. (As a southerner who though Chester was a suburb of Liverpool, I couldn't see the problem!)
At a pinch, they'd admit they "used to live in Cheshire".

Unfortunately any of the reasons to dislike Yorkshire seem to apply to Lancashire equally. ;-)

I live in Yorkshire. That's probably reason enough for some :-)

I've always thought identifying as <some nationality> as playing to prejudices.
Ah, you're a <some nationality> so you must be like <some nations stereotypical traits>

I am a citizen of the world and wherever I lay my hat is my home, nothing more :)

Reminds me a bit of my mother in law.. My chiropractor is great, he's an Iranian.

Like the second thing I need to know about someone is their gender, ethnicity and nationality!?

......apart from Bolton - you really need to know if someoneโ€™s from Bolton because they eat their kids (and yours if you leave them unattended). I know this to be true, my mum told me..๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

He's right about Bolton.

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.
