....although the county palatine boundaries didnโt change in โ74. Queenie obviously didnโt want to lose her rights in โ74 ๐

macca, same goes for me - birthplace now in 'Merseyside'. But I lived in Lancashire my entire youth, in that I'd moved out into the county proper by the time 'Merseyside' came into existence. So I think that gives me the proper credentials to hate people from Yorkshire.

Ah, when I used to deliver things for a living, large numbers of people still preferred to be known as living in Wirral rather than Merseyside. (As a southerner who though Chester was a suburb of Liverpool, I couldn't see the problem!) At a pinch, they'd admit they "used to live in Cheshire". Unfortunately any of the reasons to dislike Yorkshire seem to apply to Lancashire equally. |

I've always thought identifying as <some nationality> as playing to prejudices. Ah, you're a <some nationality> so you must be like <some nations stereotypical traits> I am a citizen of the world and wherever I lay my hat is my home, nothing more Reminds me a bit of my mother in law.. My chiropractor is great, he's an Iranian. Like the second thing I need to know about someone is their gender, ethnicity and nationality!? |

......apart from Bolton - you really need to know if someoneโs from Bolton because they eat their kids (and yours if you leave them unattended). I know this to be true, my mum told me..๐๐๐๐
