I think overall paces aren't really going to differ hugely between different writers, it will usually just be the weekly mix of runs that will vary - and even then, not by enormous amounts. That's not to say that there aren't differences of course, but most mainstream writers will be in a similar ballpark.

I planned to use the 30-47mpw 12 week half marathon schedules leading up to the Carlisle half in March, but the start was interrupted by a flare-up of knee pain that put the first two sessions out of my reach and I haven't got back to it yet.

Larkim. I guess so, but was struck that they were the same almost to the second. I was probably reading too much into it. Vrap, do you have any races coming up?

For the last 2 years I have followed this for Woky Half in Feb. This year I’m following the marathon plan but they are very similar in structure.

I have, Dill. I have a 10k in 2wks and then the half marathon in 10wks, and I'm going to run it, P&D or not.

I have the Newport and Bristol 10k in Apr/May, so plenary of time to train, hopefully without injuries!

Dill, on the half marathon plan I’ve got within 30 secs of my PB, it definitely gets you in shape. For a 10K I haven’t followed it, I tend to run a combo of track and parkrun to get me in shape for those. For me it’s all about speed endurance, I don’t need the miles.

bump!

I just started the 12 week 30-40 mile 5k plan. Will do a few benchmark races along the way.

Good luck Auburnette!

I am on Week 1 of the 12 week 31 to 47 mile HM schedule, having completed the 8 week base training schedule. So far, so good!
