The merch discount code in the magazine might boost sales of parkrun branded clothing. Difficult, now, to see a demographic that might pick up a copy of the magazine and think, "I want to do that," rather than finding out another way.

Yes, not a lot of future in magazines I'd say.

There was a point where I was buying quite a lot from the parkrun shop (pin badges for milestones, clothing, an umbrella) and every time I bought something a got another copy of the magazine, which by that point was months old. They obviously had lots to get rid of.

It’s interesting that issue 1 is the only one showing as sold out . . .

I read the first one and found it quite dull. Not read any others, though I think my home parkrun had some. You can also listen to it as an audiozine. Each issue is broken up into chapters, so it will take about two hours (!) to plough through each one. magazine.parkrun.com I had though the magazine could be read online, but seems I was wrong.* Which is logical, as part of it's stated purpose is to encourage non-screen time. But also a totally wrong decision if HQ wants people to actually engage with the content. *What is online in Issuu is two years only of the annual report and the "parkrun: A Celebration" 2015 photobook. issuu.com |

As a regular parkrunner at several venues, I have not seen a copy, was not aware it existed, am not interested in reading it now I know it exists, and I feel that paper publications are a bit like gas mantles - they've had their day and are now niche products.

I've run at a number of events, was offered but didn't take issue 2 at one of them as I feel like i get enough parkrun info from emails/social media etc. Haven't see one since and I'm a little surprised they've kept going to issue 5. That said if others like it, I've no objection to it being available for them.
