Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

forest plodder we were on holiday in Dorset a couple of weeks ago. We ran at Upton House to tick the U off the alphabet, but had a walk on another day where you did parkrun today. That must have been tough to run but what a gorgeous place.

We have decided on Wakefield for our next bit of tourism, heading there next weekend.

Foxy it’s really nice, relatively flat, you run to the lake, round the lake and repeat again - 2 laps. Mix of grass and paths.

Excellent community cafe after over the road. Don’t think there were toilets open or that close when we did it, so called in at services on the way.

Very friendly team - I know the ED Phil, lovely chap.

Cool - sounds like summer course.

I don’t do parkrun cafes if I can help it but will find a Spoons.

Browsing parkrun cancellations*, I came across an oddity - a ticketed parkrun. Which is not a parkrun. Info here parkrun.org.uk

* Quite a few weather related, especially in Eastern Scotland. Edinburgh's 14th birthday. Not cancelled yet, but as they canx two weeks ago due to rain ...

As it says in the text of that link:

it will NOT be processed as an event and will not update any stats on your parkrun profile. This is NOT going to be an official event and NO times will be given.

Personally, I think parkrun should go down that route for all events. Anyone can turn up and run, but only those booked in will be given an official result. (Yes, essentially the opposite to ^ but the same principle).

But that’s totally against their ethos and will never happen.
