regarding cancellations - we were getting emails last nigh asking if we were still on - at 2345! One even asking us to phone them if cancelled. Er no. That would take all blooming' day to call everyone!

Not sure how a ticket really protects against a bullet or a bomb but logic doesn't always play much of a part...

I didn't get a phone call from Old Croc so I went for a paddle at Elgin. Character building, but the dog loved it.

Some good (whales and dolphins spotted on course) and less good (bad rain) reasons for cancellations today. I get they are a shorthand for why, but if I was updating it I would be more descriptive to at least show it is strong reason for cancellation other than "weather".

I wouldn't be for ticketed parkruns, but one thing that is useful as core team of a relatively small parkrun (usually 80 - 130 runners) is whether a club has made it a grand prix race or some other organisation is bringing a large group of participants , so that we can consider if we need extra scanners etc.

Alternative and very hilly course change coming up at Delamere shortly, apparently. I'm looking forward to it, but I can see quite a lot avoiding this route as it is pretty brutal as a climb!

Oh crikey, having a run a 10k at Delamere last year, I think I went up that hill. I don't think I'll be doing that parkrun! 🤣

Only a temporary change due to logging works near the normal course. So don't let it put anyone off long term!!

Just for interpretive purposes (not expecting to be down that way anytime soon) is the 'altitude change of over 150m' quoted in the news article just that one climb (which would be quite something) or cumulative over the route?
