57.5 Degrees of Pain
The website seems to work fine on my phone, at least for the first 5 minutes of experimenting. I was expecting something slightly more than identical content on a new platform though. I guess the new pictures and text we submitted 2 years ago for the 'new website' might be out of date now!

I can't search for runners on new (it's just a format change I think, not actually much if any functionally new?) website.

Used to be able to go to a specific parkrun, Results, and last option on menu was Search, then put in name and it would bring back names, with parkrun A-xxx IDs.

Anyone else have that problem? :-) G

Reserving judgement on the 'new' website given that it is a temporary interim version knocked up by HQ while they wait for the new version to be delivered and as such likely to have many teething problems that need fixes. It seems these are being made as and when they are reported during use. Certainly not worth all of the grief or dismissal demanding that is being voiced by some on FB.

From parkrun blog:

'You may have noticed the parkrun website looks a bit different today.

We had hoped to have a brand new website live by now but unfortunately, due to complications in delivery, we haven’t been able to achieve what we wanted.

We haven’t changed any of the content or the structure of the site. But what we have been able to do is refresh the branding, to bring it in line with our global brand guidelines, giving it a cleaner, more modern look.'

Cant find search either, G. Also, the event maps are a shambles - centering somewhere off Greenland is not a good way to show UK events, nor is moving the centre point on every zoom. This is on an Android phone, ill have a look on tablet and laptop later.

I think my "working now. Goodo." sums up my lack of vitriol on the matter! :-) G

They had planned to have a brand new website up three, or was it four, years ago. What they seem to be doing here is a giant beta test of a fudge. Which I'm sure will be effective (well, if someone fixes the faults) but looks amateurish, especially set against the "refreshing the brand" corporate babble.

And as if by magic, search has reappeared! Looking for those maps being fixed in the next half hour, then ;-)
