I'd like to see the results page made more mobile friendly, hopefully that will be fixed in the final update when they get it all working.

At least the drop down menus are usable on mobile devices.

At least the results are not presented in alphabetical order as I had wondered given that someone, somewhere is oppressed by the fact that people are faster than them through the totally unfair means of being younger or lighter or training more.

We had to role out a new version of our website fairly swiftly due to a Google/Chrome issue (the website was suddenly showing as "not secure" due to some sort of removal of recognition for older web builder versions). So sometimes these changes can't be fully tested unless you have a spike in resources to help do that. I spent a few days tweeking ours after it went live.

parkrun is incredibly lucky to have thousands of users who will test the changes to the website to perfection within hours, whilst the vast bulk of their website users haven't even noticed the website has changed yet.

I'm not that keen on the style, it's a bit bland and dull. But fair enough, that's just my taste. Others will love it I'm sure.

However, it's really annoying that on my mobile, none of it fits on the screen any more, so I can't view all the columns of any of the tables without scrolling backwards and forwards and trying to remember which line I was trying to look at :-( The old site scaled to the width of my screen.

Ho hum.

I suspect that all they've really done is apply new "style sheets" to the existing website, so anything newly functional (potentially nice tables that fit on mobile etc) will come when they do the bit that they had planned to go live this week.

TBH, the issue with mobile display would be easily solved - by writing an Android and iOS app which just pulled the web data and put it into nice app-style pages. Whilst it is not trivial to write an app, it would be fairly simple in the grand scheme of things given how simple and accessible most of their website data actually is.

In fairness to parkrun their results pages are better than 99% of any I've seen - the worst have to be:
Those who serve the results up as an image you cannot meaningfully use for any results collating purposes on your club's website.
A scruffy PDF that you can't extract data from meaningfully (PDFs are a shite format generally).
Ones that omit running club but oddly have meaningless, made up "team names".
People who get the results out about three weeks after anyone stopped caring, 9 months for a 5K was one that sticks in my mind - never gone back.
Ones where they don't simply present them as an ordered list and the "search" facility works on bib number only.

parkrun had an app, it was shit and crashed all the time.

Maybe they still have an app, I dunno, gave up on it years ago.
