We're hoping to be at Cleethorpes on Easter Saturday. Anyone else likely to be there? Also, how will it be to run with a double buggy?

Ashton Court is my 'home' parkrun and it is quite steep and those bits are on tarmac. The descent is pretty hard on the knees. There are grass verges so it's possible to soften it a bit. The RD will probably ask runners to keep to the path to avoid the nesting skylarks, but that is really on the 'plateau' where the route is an a stony track rather than tarmac. Unless it's foggy, you'll be able to enjoy views over Ashton Gate on the way down :) . Hope you enjoy your visit, ER. I'm volunteering rather than running on Saturday.

Thanks Dochart. That’s useful to know. I’ll wear something Fetchie so give me a wave if you see me 🙂

Cleethorpes has a narrow out-and-back section, Wine Legs, might be tricky with a double buggy.

Maz - We have the new blue tokens. I agree with you - very poor quality compared to the old ones - we get way more unscannable than we used to.

I did revert to the scanner on my phone to bring the queue down but that filled up pretty quickly and wouldn’t let me do any more.

Maybe more to do with my available memory I thought?

Just catching up, Hi Wine Legs. I'd suggest that Cleethorpes is OK, but not ideal for a double buggy. The out and back is dead straight and not scarily narrow, but there are enough "Must overtake at all costs" types running up the suicide lane in the middle to make it potentially a little playful. It's a shame, because it is a lovely, flat, all-tarmac course. There is decent grass to the side of the path, though, so if you're happy rolling with one wheel on the grass when the crazies come barreling at you, then it should be OK.

Sadly, I'm taking my son to Birmingham this weekend, so I won't be there. I'd have loved to say "hi" otherwise.

Alternatively, Scunthorpe would be perfect as it's almost entirely wide tarmac paths apart from a little wiggly bit at the far end.

Maybe its suitablility depends what kit you're rolling with and how much wider it is than a single Nipper Sport, which is what I risk assess the course with.

Twice up the out and back. Your intended time depends whether its the first or the second time that's more hairy!

On Saturday, I'm driving from Solihull, to the National Space Centre in Leicester. Any suggestions for a parkrun en route that won't be muddy and will keep a child entertained? If there's a possibility to shower and change afterwards, so much the better...
