Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Victoria Dock is supposed to be VERY fast. Marders has a sub 15 on it as course record.

A couple of 180 turns by the look of the map though:

I can vouch for Victoria Dock being fast. I jogged round chatting to a mate the day before VLM18 and ran the same time as I'd run putting in a big effort at my local parkrun the week before! IF it's wet it could be a little slower as the cobbles are potentially a bit hazardous.

Curly - yes there are a few tight turns but as there is so much straight running you can make that up. The lower numbers also mean it is less congested. I fancyhaving a go at the FV50 record as only a few seconds off doing ti the day before big half and was taking it easy as I have a dodgy hamstring at the moment.

Gobi - you'll fly round Victoria Dock. Only caveat I'd say is if you are at the front it can be a bit breezy as the wind blows across the Dock. Only takes a few minutes to walk there from the DLR stop.

@Jovi @LindsD, after the briefing done by the RD, they said "we'll be starting in a few seconds, so I'll hand the megaphone to Aidan and he'll start the race". They handed it on, he said "3-2-1 go", thrust the megaphone back into the hands of the RD and started his run. We're lucky at Delamere in that there's a narrow track just to the left of the main parkrun start, so he headed down there rather than get trampled by the rest of the crowd. So in effect he probably started about 10-15s further up the field than he would normally do.
