Given the conditions in some parts of the country I hope everything went well for the events that went ahead.

Though I was interested to get the national volunteer email on Friday where it said that there had been over 5,000 incidents logged at UK and Ireland events in 2018. I know there are over 500 events, but that at very rough sums is almost 10 per event, so almost one per event per month for every event. Still a small percentage of circa 100k runners per week, but the incidents clearly are a concern on that scale.

Lochore cancelled early, others cancelled late, so touristed to Vogrie on basis it is a trail and grass one so better in snow. And it was beautiful. What a lovely park. Cancellations lead to opportunities!

Lol at Bradford actual polar bears.:-) G

It depends what people are logging SLickster - I know of RD's who log every trip resulting in a graze as an incident

I think we probably log about 8-10 a year, so that's around the right number, SLick.

We've had a few falls, a fight at the start :-0, a dog incident, a temporarily lost child, and a few faints.

The official 'list' was:
What is an incident? An incident is something that involves one or more of the following:
-Personal injury to anyone (including other park users)
-Near misses with the potential to cause serious injury
-Property damage
-Ill health and sickness
-Conflict or complaints
-Safeguarding concerns
-Something happens which could damage the reputation of parkrun

With those criteria, I'm surprised that more incidents are not logged!

Peckham, South London, went ahead after delayed start, waiting for the liberal gritting to melt the more treacherous slicks of ice.
