Ok, so there are some quiet obsessives here But this place is far removed from the asylum that is the FB PDG...

The PDG, or "That bunch of entitled whiners" as I prefer to call them.

My favourite there yesterday was the demand that all second events on New Year's Day start at 10.30 to give our correspondent the best possible chance of making it through the crowded finish of the first event to the start line of the second in time. Apparently someone even phoned an RD of a 10am event to ask them to delay the start because they wouldn't make it!
Our correspondent even had constructive feedback on what all 9am events must do in order to expedite her passage through the double.

Delamere is great, one of my faves and the FB group for tourists is hilarious to watch.

I need two more events to qualify for the tourist group. I'm hoping they're not quite such an entitled bunch of whingers.

I keep meaning to leave the PDG but it's such a source of gob-smacking fascinating entitlement that I can't quite pull away
Full disclosure: I did once travel a long distance just to do a parkrun. We booked a coach to go to Bushy once. It was good fun, a nice community thing, but very much a one-off.

Not on Facebook....
All my missing letters are easy to get to for me, it's just inertia and the pull of my home run. D = Dinton or Dulwich; U = Upton Court; S = South Oxhey; V = Victoria Dock.

DeeGee - the tourist group has its moments! (it is quite strictly moderated, so whilst I stayed in the group, I stopped "following" the posts some time ago)
I was also at Newbury but nowadays most of my tourism is because I am in the area anyway.

And that reminds me, I went to Corby once because Fizz and WW reached a milestone (That might have slightly broken my hour rule :-0)

I was thinking about that first Newbury yesterday as I drove right past the course. It was freezing! And how times have changed.
I am an accidental tourist as I get out and about visiting at weekends and often break up the journey or visit the most convenient run. You can see distinct clusters where family and friends are.
