We've all got one in our family, I don't wear it daily but it does feel fairly tough and when we're on holiday the kids wear them daily because they have our telephone numbers on then. Reliable for scanning too.

I've worn one from the previous suppliers every day for over a year with no issue.
Not being able to do so would negate the main reason for having it in my eyes. DFYB.

Mine from previous suppliers is still going strong well a couple of years after getting it. However I have read a few FB posts suggesting the new wristbands are not as hard wearing.

All my family wear them, not only for parkruns but also when running solo for the emergency contact details
Recommend them

I’ve also heard that the new ones wear v quickly. Hubby wore his every day and needed to replace it after about 3 years, mine is as good as new but I only wear it parkrun days, but they are both obviously old supplier

Hello twilight,
I'm not keen with things rattling about on my wrist so I got one of those credit card style barcodes, I've had it for 2 years, doesn't go soggy when its wet & fits nicely in my running belt , perfect
Happy parkrunning 😃

Did Exmouth again yesterday, I started a bit further back and as a consequence didn't go over the start line for at least 30 seconds as there's a narrowing issue. I don't know whether this was foreseen, or whether the weight of numbers (nearly 400) has taken them by surprise. I'm not complaining as at least it went ahead, unlike Exeter which was cancelled because of ice.
Still, it was VERY noticeable that there were far more families/ new runners than I see at other parkruns, so they have clearly done very well in engaging the non elite runners. Parkrun Towers would approve I'm sure!

Another newbie question if I may.
As you cross the finishing line I believe you get given a numbered token (say 84 for example). I'm guessing they record the time that token 84 gets issued, and then later on they scan your barcode to allocate that token (and hence finishing time) to your profile. Is that right?
