Thats a shame. I know they don't want double headers but a later one might encourage more volunteers or runners, and would allow for junior parkruns to take place as well in their normal slot If there's a clash with juniors then the instruction is that the junior parkrun takes precedence |

Junior/ 5K doubles were banned anyway, I think in case any juniors ran both. As I found out when I turned up at Victoria (Glasgow) for an 1100 start and found a surprisingly deserted park. (I was able to just make the start of the traditional second part at Tollcross once I'd realised.) |

Our local 5k is going ahead on Xmas day and new year's day, but we checked with the junior event first and they aren't holding events on either day. If they were we wouldn't be allowed to go ahead.

parkrun HQ rules. I guess they are trying to stop juniors doing a double or if they are at the same time of day then it will probably be to stop a lack of volunteers

Looby Loo - a few reasons. Both events would start at 9am and most weeks some of the volunteers help out at both, so wouldn't be able to do both. Car parking might be difficult. Our main issue is that I don't think the local council will allow both events to go ahead on the same day, but I might have mis-remembered that bit.

I've seen a few where the 5k goes ahead and the junior is cancelled 😞 That doesn't necessarily mean the 5k has pushed the 2k out - we mailed our 2k (which uses the same paths) to ask if they are having a 25/12 run, they said they aren't, so we're having a 5k. |
