For the first time since I was 14 I didn't cook on Christmas Day: went to daughter's, which meant this morning I ran about 25 minutes to collect the car. Cooking a Christmas/Boxing Day Dinner today instead for my two sons.

Run felt easier today once I got going, perhaps due to running on the roads, which I rarely do.

Wordle in four yesterday and six today.

@alehouse nearly a snap here - but I still had to cook the turkey & trimmings whilst he family brought prepared starters, vegetables & pudding - plus lots of drink!

haven't quite got your record of dinner preparation, mine only goes back to first year of married life :-)

Alas no run today after all - I have a touch of achilles tendonosis - not sure where it came from but a few days off running may assist recovery

Missed wordle yesterday - too busy and a close run six today!

Off now for part deux of festivities at my son's house - there may be some football watching involved :-)

I haven't cooked any Christmas food, but with a houseful I've done a ton of dishwashing.
Easy 8 miles today. It will be my 500th parkrun on Saturday

@OO61 that is a tremendous number of parkruns - 10 years worth:-)
Hope it goes well tomorrow

@Welshpoppy impressed you got a run in on Xmas Day!
Neat menu reversal

I joined @OO61 in the dishwashing processes - 58 glasses I counted as I washed them by hand, the rest of the crockery etc went in the dishwasher in several loads.

Nice relaxed day yesterday complete with some footie watching :-)

Very foggy last night but it had burned off this morning with early sunshine as I very carefully eased out for a gentle 2.5 miles in 30 min HR 117/135 - just a very slight niggle in the lowest point of the achilles and it has now disappeared, hopefully for good!!

Like @OO61 and @Torque Steer I did little in the prep department (other than blowing leaves and tidying up outside) but a solid load of dishwashing Christmas & Boxing day (& most other days). But fortunately not in the 58-glass category.
@OO61 all the best for parkrun 500 tomorrow. Hope the weather is kind to you.
@Welshpoppy you do an amazing job caring for OH & carrying almost the full load of household & other tasks. Good to see a number of decent runs of late too.
A few decent ~half hour runs from you too, @alehouse
Good to hear the achilles is resolving quickly @Torque Steer. Hope the knee is still 'settled'.

A not so great parkrun for me this morning (25:58). Upper leg muscles still decidedly unhappy & leaden πŸ™. Quite windy but otherwise pleasant conditions. Unlike last week on the track though, I (just) avoided a 26 in front of the minutes part! One of the very few times when I intentionally ran the first km at slower than 5:00 pace. Resulting HR (141/155) quite a lot lower than my normal parkrun average.

One thing I forgot to mention about last Sat. I did get a 'spot prize' of a $50 running top + a few nibbles so nominally covered my entry fee. Except I already have a surplus of running tops, with two more coming up from HM's in the next few months.

@NZD

Maybe this week carrying a little Christmas food and drink? I am sure all will come good again.but I know the heavy legs feeling.

One can never have too many running top's. Well done on your prizeπŸ˜€
You have a choice when going for a run.

Torque I think you win in the most glasses washed category. Here is a spot prize of a pair of marigold 🧀

Just sipping coffee till I go out Dewi wakes me at 4am but did not get up till 6amπŸ˜‰

Trust you got out @Welshpoppy. Definitely would not like the idea of being woken at 4am πŸ™.

Couple of interesting stats from parkrun this morning:

+ 29 J10's (25M, 4W), four of whom finished ahead of me! Plus a further 21 J11-14's. Must be school holidays! There was a sea of them up near the front of the start. Two of the J10's have already done over 100 parkruns.

+ First overall out of 353 M+W was a young women (well, SW31). Also first overall last time she ran.
