Lactose intolerant. Not sure why eggs are considered dairy 🙄

I've never understood that, either!
How about non-dairy cream (Elmlea and such like). Is that ok?

NHS Dentist here has started pushing adults with "normally healthy" teeth onto a 12 month check-up schedule, rather than 6 monthly. My optician wanted me back in 12 months for my last check, because prior to that my eyes had changed rather fast (for the better!).

They seem to have settled down now - and the eye pressure machine that spat in your eye seems to have been improved massively too, in as much as it only needs one puff now instead of the 3 it used to take.

Been wearing glasses for 48 years officially now - although I only started actually wearing them regularly when I was learning to drive, which is still, er, 45 years ago. 🤓 My grandmother used to say it was from reading under the covers at night by torchlight, and from sitting too close to the TV!

Oh apparently that is why my eye sight is so bad! A few years ago, probably 10, my optician said I should stop reading in bed on my left hand side, as I was at risk of irreversible damage 😱
So I no longer read in bed and things have improved a little!

I have needed eye tests and glasses since I was 17. I am about 5 months over the two years, but can sense I need a new prescription. Problem is it is so damn expensive for a new pair and thats why I leave it longer.

My wife though with her last pair was offerred interest free credit so it was split over 3 or 4 payments which helps

There is some evidence that reading/close screenwork in childhood while the eye still has some growing to do may contribute to short sight.

And yes, very expensive... But my eye testing is free and I have been going there for so long, I buy all my new frames and lenses there. Not cheap: my lenses alone were €1000 then I buy a good frame, as it tends to last me 10 years. I don't need new lenses that often, thankfully.

Diseases other than teeth get picked up by dentists!

My dentist noticed that I had a Geographic Tongue" an indication of a possible low mineral level. My GT cleared up very quickly by itself.

I have yearly eye tests due to my AMD. Thankfully the eye tests are free, although I have to pay for the retinal photographs/scans.

Is that when it looks like a dried-up river bed, Flatlander?
