Sigh that stool looks very professional and sturdy. I'm not surprised you still have it and it is in good condition.

I still use a wooden spatula I made and a tin dish (or ash tray) is at my parents' house. The other items may be in my loft or have been thrown away. Our woodwork teacher was very much old school. In one lesson, he asked me get get a straight edge. I was confused and all the other boys didn't know what it was either. After a few wrong guesses and much saliva coming in my direction, he showed me. It transpired to be a metal 12" ruler. Why not say that it's a ruler? Needless to say that I chose art instead of woodwork when taking my options. |

Crap teachers, I had plenty of them. They seem much better nowadays.

Most of mine were good. Sadly, I have had a few bad ones: Two seemed to control their classes by their overly strict persona. Seemingly too focused on getting their pay scale increment through results than actually trying to help the child to do their best. One primary school teacher probably shouldn't have been anywhere near children. One senior school teacher was a outright bully and a liar. |

I made a clay ashtray when I was in, I think, nursery school. Or possibly when I was a bit older and just very crap at it.

We had to make a summer uniform dress for ourselves in Domestic Science. It took me so long to make it, I'd grown and it didn't fit me when it was finally done, mainly because Mrs Autrey kept measuring my seams and they weren't 5/8" so I had to redo them. We got our first fridge when I was about 10 or 11. We had a pantry with stone shelves for keeping stuff cool before that. The kitchen was tiny, so the fridge had to go in front of the door to the hall which we never used as a door again. |
