Thanks for the summaries! Agree re this being amongst the friendliest and most supportive threads on fetch, which is generally pretty great most places compared to other online “communities”.

I still remember a mustard pot being a standard condiment in my youth, but not used much!

Since we have been semi-retired, and cooking from scratch, the most noticeable change for us has been noticing how much salt there is in 'ready meals', take aways and even meals in restaurants. Anyone else noticed this? I especially notice this in Chinese food (MSG?)
I used to love take aways, but now we cook almost exclusively at home

For some reason I thought MSG wasn't used much nowadays (haven't had a Chinese takeaway or restaurant meal for years, so I don't know if that's true.) There used to be a thing called a 'takeaway headache' attributed to MSG didn't there?

Meeps: yes! These tiny spoons used to fascinate me as a kid...
As for the parmesan pot: I would regularly put the lot on my pasta, including pasta with fish! A terrible faux pas 🤣🤣🤣 but then, what do you expect from a "kaaskop" in Italy!

I remember mustard spoons and salt spoons in my youth (only when the posh plates and cutlery came out for visitors (and sugar lumps with tweezers!)
