About half of residents are similar ages to us, the others are older. Last week one of the houses went up for sale and we believe its about releasing funds to enable retirement. What has struck me is how young many of the prospective new neighbours are It has also made me wonder how they can afford it as I know with house price inflation since we moved here 23 years ago, I could not afford to buy this house any more

Surely "older" shouldn't start until 70 these days? I'm older now than my great aunt was when I taught her to swim. I find that hard to believe as she looked like an "old lady" with a mono-boob under a crimplene frock and a curly silver perm. But she was probably at least as fit and strong as I am.
