Certainly in the 90s torn ACLs were career ending injuries for footballers, whereas today they aren’t even season ending....

Before the 90s, maybe, but ACL reconstruction became much more common and successful during that decade. I had mine done at 25 in Jan ‘93 and it’s been good ever since, although I never played for England again (or before for that matter).

Interesting. Hubby had someone land on him awkwardly in a jiu jitsu throw that buggered up what he thinks was his ACL for a good 10 years. It eventually got better but he couldn't run without knee issues for a very long time. In 2013, he got bored and went for a short run, only to find it was now better!

That was in the mid-90s or thereabouts.

Once upon a time in days of yore, on a bank holiday I’d watch Disney Time. Nothing to look forward to on bank holiday TV now they’ve stopped showing that. It was the same old clips from Dumbo, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sword in the Stone very time, but I used to look forward to it.
