I remember Ian Curtis’ death. I remember Closer coming out and I remember hearing New Order’s Ceremony in Fox’s Records and buying it as if it was yesterday

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I have a long tradition (since 1993 in Malawi) of marking what we dubbed 'Ian Curtis Death Day' with an American friend I have only seen occasionally in person since that year. Raising a glass and listening to the music.

I prefer Fact10 (just), probably because New Dawn Fades is my favourite of all their album tracks. I still remember John Peel dedicating it to the people of Poland on his 1981 Festive 50, soon after the crackdown on Solidarity. Still sounding great on 1979 vinyl! |

A cover of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' by Nerina Pallot was played over the credits of the latest ep. of 'Normal People', about which many are raving. |
