I'm really impressed with my chest torch, which has 2 brightness settings (easy to change) and a decent light on the back. The chest torch can be angled down which is good for running on the trail.

I have a Kalenji chest torch which is mostly strikingly similar to the amazon link above (only the rear red light is different). My chest wanders left to right as I run so the beam bobs irritatingly; on the other hand, the beam being further from your eyes gives you a bit more shadow behind obstructions so it is marginally easier to see tree roots. The front light has click stop angle adjustment. My main problem with my head torch is that it is heavy and slips. I fixed that by fitting an over-head strap front to back and now I hardly notice it is there. (Just using the overhead section of amazon.co.uk ) |

And Sigh's comment reminds me of searching for "flexible massage stick" on Amazon, wanting something to roll my legs which didn't have a steel core. Don't do this. Especially don't do it at work. The first page is innocuous enough... |

I have a flexible massage stick, it's on my desk in front of me right now This is it: runnersworld.com Understand what you mean about heavy headtorches, I have a Hope R4 that is bloody amazing in terms of power output, but awful to wear for more than a few hours. |

Sigh - what Sharkie said Not googling flexible massage sticks either, even in the privacy of my own living room Will report back on the usefulness of the chest torch later. |

Better to find out now and get it controlled than finding out when something goes wrong xx
