Sale of the Century - can you believe Nicholas Parsons is now in his mid 90s? We used to watch that as kids imagining where we'd go in the boat when we won it! (Not that we ever applied for the show!)

Canadian TV wasn't much better, two (CBC - CBOT, CTV) then two (Global) english channels, and one French channel (from CBC - CBOFT). Then cable TV came along in the 80s - I didn't see any of that until I went away to university, then we had more channels than we knew what to do with and still not much of use to watch!

Garfield, now I have satellite TV with upward of 300 channels and a PVR, and there's still not much of use to watch!
Basically, we still watch the UK's 5 main channels.... with the occasional diversion to record films as we see them.

Sigh
I generally avoid Channel 5 as it's mostly shit.
In fact, I don't watch that much at all - the Mrs is watching re-runs of 'Bread' and 'Trollied' at the moment!

I watch cricket, stream Bones on Amazon Prime, record Billions on Sky Atlantic and that's about it.

I think that thing in the corner I sometimes wipe the dust off may be a television. It was last on for the Six Nations rugby; before that, Les Miserables. I could probably benefit from watching a bit more, selectively, but television has never really been my thing.

Long distant memories of early Gerry Anderson - Twizzle, Torchy, Four Feather Falls & Fireball XL5. These days mostly Only Connect & UC (when they're on) and a Thursday E4 binge (also about to stop) of Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon & Brooklyn 99

My Thursday evenings as a child/young teen used to be Tomorrow's World (where *is* my flying car, Raymond Baxter?) and Star Trek. A dilemma as I got a bit older as to whether I missed Star Trek or went to Youth Club!
Saturday tea time was Dr Who time for years on end, it seemed.
I confess to still recording random episodes of Star Trek (all versions!) and watching Dr Who on iPlayer when away for work.

I watch little more than Dad's Army (my choice) and Upstart Crow (OH's choice).
I'm sure I'm missing out.

I've slowly transitioned from avid TV watcher to nothing at all since we stopped the Sky subscription, all I watched was cricket on that anyway.
