Though reading this thread I started considering my Encona hot sauce instead. I'm also considering shallots. (Which are cheap this week in Lidl, also the source of the ripe avocado. And a St Clement's sticky pudding - not to be combined with any of the above-mentioned.)

I used to eat avocados, usually as a sort of homemade guacamole thing - but now they've become so trendy they don't taste of anything at all and don't seem to ripen properly like they used to. Once a man, twice a child - can't remember where that came from but it certainly made sense with my aging and Parkinson's dementia-suffering dad! Nana was as bad in her last (98th) year she threw tantrums any 2 years old would have been proud of!
