I've dipped in the sea twice this week. Each time I've been glad of my Swimzi robe to walk home in. What I looked like I prefer not to ponder ( Swimzis are longer than Dryrobes and I bought a M when S would have been better!)

Eek - I've just made contact with a local OW group and turns out they're swimming this evening less than a mile away. I hope they're kind to a rubbish swimmer who won't be staying in for more than 15 minutes!

I got my first two open water swims under my belt this week, very enjoyable indeed. Wednesday was just learning the ropes and getting used to the colder water (13° both days, so actually not bad at all). Today I went around the 750m loop a couple of times - I think I could be addicted!

Really enjoyed my dip this evening. It didn't feel as cold as the two dips earlier in the week and I swam about a bit and chatted with a lovely lady who was born about three miles from where we live in Gloucestershire - she even has a Lido bobble hat Small world. The group seems very friendly and I'm hoping swimming with company will help to build my sea swimming confidence.

That's great LD. Sometimes this is a very small world.

My swim on Sunday was probably the best 1st swim of the season I have had! I've also just bought a float. There is a local lake that I was wondering if it's possible to swim in (with float!) but can't see anything on Google. Is there a way to find out? |
