Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Had my first OW swim today, in the River Ure at Boroughbridge, followed by my dad in his boats tender, goggles fogged up straight away and I had to switch from my usual pool style swimming to something resembling front crawl, suit was fine, breathing was difficult, not restricted by the suit but.....just different, hence my switch of styles, did 800m in around 20 mins, hopefully get a few more in before the QE2 Sprint.
Wore ear plugs and they were fine, no problems, water was reasonably warm, had to do a couple of strokes of breaststroke when responding to the old man shouting "How far are you bloody going?" alright for him, in the boat with outboard motor! all in all, good, need to sort my breathing out, but distance no problem and no wobbles!!

test swim in pool with new wetsuit - it's very fast! But it let in quite a bit of water - not snugged up at the small of my back. Is it too big (it's well tight elsewhere), too new, not on right?

I went to Boundary last night. Took ages to talk myself into getting in, and then spent ages trying to get suit filled and warm. Managed 400m, half breast stroke half crawl. Crawl was great for a few strokes until I had mild panics about being in a lake, so revert to breast stroke then back to crawl - Repeat for the hole 400m

Swim coaching in a pool tonight :-)

No it was really a lot, when I got out it it was sloshing down my legs, must have been about a bucket of water. Should I get wet, get out and squeeze it out to get it to stick to my body a bit better?

You should "flush" it Paul.. however, if it is still holding that much water, you might go for a smaller size.
