Yes, we spotted that too - she was leaning on the barrier recovering, and whilst 1st, 2nd and 3rd were all surrounded with help, she was left to it :-/

Lots to catch up on, on here over the weekend. I was busy watching Gladiators live. Really interesting views on the boxer. Will look forward to more coming out on that. Some heat on the dressage, I was driving so listened to what the radio gave me. Jumping between the dressage and the hockey. Without a British interest I wouldn't watch or listen to a second of either for the remainder of my life, but with a medal on the line it becomes the most important thing in my world. I didn't see any comments on the skeet. I can't believe they can't just give two golds and lose the silver when replays show she clearly clipped the one they gave as a miss. She seemed to take it pretty well from what I saw. 3 months after having a baby to winning an Olympic medal is insane. I also really feel for the female windsurfer, that format is cruel in the extreme. Clearly the best by a margin but only got a bronze. |

Also just caught the end of the beam. Almost universal agreement the brazilian was the best and she was judged as 4th. If I were ever to compete in the Olympics, I would steer well clear of any subjective, judging event. |

It wasn't just him Pixie. Both on the TV and Louis Smith were in agreement. Those judge sports are iffy.

My girlfriend was saying last week they showed Biles vs another competitor side by side, and the two (think it was the vault) were either near identical or her opponent slightly better, but Biles scored higher. There's always going to be some inherent bias when subjective judging comes into it. |

The commenters aren't necessarily keeping an eagle eye out for minor mistakes that cut down the difficulty score below that intended. There are two judges who are solely focused on that one task.

The French guy in the BMX nearly robbed our guy of silver. That was bought by the crowd. Biles definitely marked more favourably than any other athlete. |
