Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm gonna miss all day sport on TV! Just watched highlights of closing ceremony and montage of medals. Both great. :-) G

Closing ceremony was so much better than the opening one.

The Olympic flame has not been a focal point unless picked up on an aerial shot during one of the events. Fine if you happen to be in and around Paris but not inside the stadium. So for a bit of it to suddenly appear inside a gas lamp without watching the whole of it fade out was disappointing. I thought it was treated more like a child's birthday cake rather than a poignant part of the closing ceremony.

As the LA Coliseum has a permanent cauldron, things should be better next time.

Glad that the women's marathon medal ceremony was included. However, they should not have excluded the tradition of the men's marathon medal ceremony to do so. It would have been much better to have had both rather than swapping one for the other.

Back to daytime TV while I WFH, until the Paralympics starts in 2 weeks time.

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
