Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

How much better is the Nutribullet than a normal blender? I am thinking of trying some of the smoothie recipes on the thread but I don't want to start shelling out for a Nutribullet until I'm sure we get on ok with the recipes and having them for breakfast.

Would a normal blender be ok to start with or does the Nutribullet make a significant difference?

Different league - not a juicer, not a blender - a bit of both but only does one thing. It makes mega smooth smoothies. I have the oats, banana and frozen fruit one every day for brekkie. I also have a green one most lunchtimes - spinach / kale with cucumber, celery, mint, lime - sometimes add carrot or ginger. It can "smooth" things like the carrot and celery so well that its still totally liquid.

I've had one for a couple of months now as a friend recommended it. It's brilliant!
Had a few disaster experiments but got the hang of it now. My favourite is just a plain milk.and banana but having read the previous posts I'll add some oats in too as it sounds nice.
I did try to make some orange juice the night before and put it in the fridge for morning. Turned into a jelly and needed a spoon to eat it!

OC, what quantity of oats would you recommend in a milk, oat and banana/berries smoothie? That sounds like the ideal on the go breakfast for me. Do you soak the oats in the milk overnight?

I have 4 or 5 spoonfuls of oats, a banana and a small amount of frozen berries - e,g, two strawberries, cover with water (or milk) and blast it.
