I had yoga with a new teacher tonight. She was very sweet, I liked her. Driving to yoga I realised that while I was in Edinburgh everything has suddenly BURST into spring! White fuzz everywhere, green leaves coming out on all the trees including the birches, gorse flowering its socks off, everything so beautiful

I did a newt thing out in the garage today. When doing weights on my own, I often space my sets of grrrrraaaahring with sets of step-ups (because I only do upper body weights) but today for the first time I did hypergravity step-ups. Only a 2kg dumbbell in each hand, but surprisingly hard on my legs in comparison with bodyweight alone.

I do high step ups with weights in winter - its very sprintery! Sometimes just sprint arms sometimes with a press at the top of the move. They ARE hard, so special kudos to you V-rap, doing them at the end of a gruelling day.

Just catching up on today! V'rap- did you have to throw small pebbles at her window to rouse her?!
Lovely Spring-y stuff going on.
My newt is not really mine. Marigold has her first boyfriend. She's 11. I have had a chat and advised her not to snog at school to which she replied "Eurghh. Why would I want to snog anywhere?" They have hugged apparently, but nothing more. Phew. Most of her friends have said "a girl as clever as you should not go out with a boy like......". This has made her more resolute in her choice. This is useful for me- when she gets to a serious relationship, don't diss it, and she may not dig her heels in.

I didn't, WA, the person who visited her last time told me which window to knock
Sharkie, my step-ups are tiny, just on and off a platform that can't be more than 6" high, and not at all sprintery. I mainly do them as training for making dynamic moves with my feet when climbing. And because they give me less DOMS than squats would.

Sorry, was catching up on Broadchurch.
2 min recoveries which I tried to walk half and jog half. Pace for my current 5k time was a sedate 2.11 which I managed to hit or better for most reps
