MyWhoosh is the freebie, UAE endorsed, copycat clone of Zwift. Now that Zwift is 17.99 a month, who, like me, made the jump over and found there was enough to keep interest...? I can't be the only one right?? There was so many people on it over Xmas that they pretty much took the server down. mywhoosh.com And yes it is different enough to merit its own thread... |

I tried it a few months ago, got on ok with it. Yhen a big update made it very buggy. It kept crashing part way through a ride. So I moved to indievelo, which is pretty good although it's been bought by Training Peaks so is only free until March now. |

I'm using it now. I think Zwift is definitely better, but not £18 month better.

Yeah I agree Zwift is definitely better, and I was happy(ish) at 12.99 a month. The extra 5 was like, ok it becomes harder to justify. Not heard of indievelo -although the pending charges will keep me from investigating. I'm guessing one day MyWhoosh might not be free, but at the moment it looks like it will be for a while. Was a new update to MyWhoosh over Xmas which completely changed the interface and graphics. Like the look of the MyWhoosh elimination races (does Zwift have those?), where you lose a couple of places each lap of the velodrome. |

Same. I already pay for a gym membership, and £18 month (especially in the summer when it's light enough after work to be outside and it's not pissing down/icy the entire time) just tips it over from the £12 you can just gloss over. I haven't heard of indievelo either, some people are also using something like Rouvay? |

I used Rouvy, had 3 month free when I initially bought the turbo trainer (2020). It's "unique" selling point is that it uses actual videos of iconic climbs/courses. Downside, a) nobody uses it and b) it isn't smooth video, more like a stop motion animation kind of thing. It was fun for free, I used to cycle the Col d'Ausbique having driven up it the year before, and now I really want to cycle it for real. But yeah the lack of people barring the odd one or two was distracting.

Indievelo is now called Training Peaks Virtual. It's remaining free until end of March if you want to try it. I like that you can customise the user interface with the data you want to see and can also do completely custom kit. With the MyWhoosh update, I might try it again, if they've sorted the crashing issues. |

I tried MyWhoosh around 12 months ago but it was really quiet, with no races when I wanted them, so I stopped. I’ve revisited once or twice for a session or two but didn’t see much improvement, but I’ll give it another go at some point.

So, it's completely free? That'd be a big 'selling' point for me. I have a Concept2 BikeErg which isn't quite a smart bike*, but does have a PM5 monitor on it that C2 allege is compatible with MyWhoosh. I usually ride with some sort of scenery thing going on, on a laptop or iPad stuck to the monitor so it sounds like I might be able to get this to work. *Can't do changing resistance so easily |
