My bread lives in the freezer. I've just worked out that my microwave is about 21 years old - still looks like new. I don't use it very much, just to reheat stuff occasionally these days.

Our bread lives in the freezer too. Kettle, toaster and coffee machine on worktop near the sink, microwave on another worktop near the oven. Microwave used for porridge and reheating meals.

Toaster lives in the utility room with the microwave ..... That's a good thing when someone burns the toast

Our microwaves (2 kitchens) are both built in. The toasters are next to the bread bins and the kettles are next to the food waste bin in the corner, so teabags are immediately deposited in there.

There's also a radio and a fruit bowl on the worktops, and in our no.1 house, far too much other stuff: a sandwich toaster, three utensils pots, weighing scales, a breadmaker, a knife block...it was so nice when it was new and uncluttered, now, not so much :-(

Bread lives in bread bin, toaster is adjacent next to bread board. The toaster gets used most days. Other appliances are a slow cooker, an electric can opener, a bread maker, and a microwave. My eldest daughter uses the microwave to make any hot drink.

I was doing OK until I adopted a pair of traditional weighing scales...

Microwave is more of an expensive kitchen timer, though I use it for thawing frozen rolls when I make a big batch.

This seems like a good place to ask for bread machine recommendations. I had one previously which produced bricks. I know a couple of people who get lovely loaves from theirs. My aunty says panasonic. Any suggestions here?

Our microwave died a few years ago and hasnt been replaced. It took up a lot of room on the kitchen worktop for so little use.

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
