V'rap, you probably will have some potatoes if they haven't been exterminated!

I'll have a ratch once the foliage has flowered. Some of the virginia creeper trimmings that went into our dalek instead of the garden waste bin seem to like it in there too. I foresee some sifting.

I think my newish next door neighbour is new to gardening! Yesterday, he mowed his all-brown-grass lawn rear garden quite short, and then late this morning he watered it liberally with a sprinkler. So much for the water companies' plea not to use water unnecessarily, including not watering gardens.

I haven't cut my grass for 3 weeks now. It sumply isn't growing enough and I don't want to burn it to a cinder...

Same, my grass is not growing and is brown but the other plants in the lawn are. I currently I have lots of yellow flowers in my lawn and I can see that soon I’ll have lots of white. PictureThis is telling me that the yellow is Autumn Hawkbit and the white is Yarrow.

Flatlander, my dad learned not to do that the hard way...killed the lawn one summer mowing it too short during a hot spell, then watched as it burnt to a crisp by the sun!

I have lots of red and white clover popping up. The (blue) self heal is no longer flowering. Also some daisies but they are also suffering in the heat and keeping their heads down. Hawkbit everywhere! It looks green, with cute yeow flowers, so ok by me

Are people watering their gardens? I don't have saved water (must get that set up for next year), so I am still watering the veg patch from the mains, but feel a bit conflicted: Water companies are asking us not to, which I can fully understand, but it is for food production...
