Perhaps this is a cunning plan to subvert the £2 fare cap, you have to buy at least 4 if not 5 tickets to get to Edinburgh...

Well, it's Scotland, so free for elderly Scots, and the English pay > £10.

Why does my mobile ticket have a 30-minute validity period?

Our Borderless Single Ticket has a 30-minute validity period for security purposes. This 30-minute validity period is only for boarding the bus, it does not mean that your journey needs to be less than 30 minutes; it is only to prevent the ticket from being re-used on another service. Once the 30 minutes expires the ticket will disappear from the app, although please keep in mind that when you purchase this ticket a receipt will be sent to your emails should you require proof of purchase for any reason.

It's a good idea to activate this ticket when you see your bus approaching, this saves the ticket timing out whilst waiting on the bus.

Possibly the above X95 from Carlisle to Edinburgh if the "for journeys starting in England" restriction means what it seems to mean.

In Bedford I was given an adult ticket for a 5 year old because "the £2 fare only applies to adults. The child fare is £4"

And 'they' wonder why folks don't use the buses!

Not a product but still 100% wrong:

When the moon is full, the sun and the moon are pulling in the same direction, which has the effect of increasing tides above normal ranges, said Kerry Emanuel, professor emeritus of atmospheric science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
