I just realised today that the 30 day yoga with Adriene conflicts with this thread . I can't decide whether to continue the 30 days with Adriene, or have one complete rest day a week, and then do the remaining yoga sessions at the end going in to Feb. I'm favouring the second option

You will still be doing better with Adriene than I did first time. I think I finished in September. The following year.

NO!
I mean yes - but we can make it work! I'm doing both but engineering Adriene to fit. I have designated rest days of at least one a week. We have the Adriene plan now and you'll see that some sessions are quite short.
This is what I will do next week: Day five 'Soften' 26 mins falls on Monday 6th (my rest day) If it looks really non taxing - and 'Soften' implies that - then I will do it, it will work well after my track session on Sunday. But the alternative is to do two sessions on the 7th, not impossible.
OR -as you suggest - miss one day every week and add an extra four or five days at the end of Jan.
OR a bit of both!

Proper, I mean real proper rest day for me today, determined to see the back of this cold so have rested for much of the day, day 0 of Adriene has been the limit. Wish the same could be said for my head.

Ah Sharkie, what a good idea... I hadn't thought of doing yoga double days 😉

Total rest day for me today - from physical exertion at least. At work, though, with all that entails (mentally rather than physically) so days like this don’t feel restful at all.

Yeah, I get that completely, Bint. It's tough. My physio sent me a useful podcast all about - iIrr -external and internal loading. Anyway, it mentioned just how much other stuff -besides obvious things like injuries - affects our training day to day. Stress is a biggie as you'd expect. Silly old work getting in the way!
Mrs. J - quite right too. Day Zero of Adriene most appropriate. Nothing else! Get well soon!

Trin - I'm experimenting with 'doubles' of different sorts on non rest days. Let's face it most - if not all - of the people on this thread are pretty fit to begin with and I reckon can handle doubles if they're sensible about it. That then leaves better rest days.
I really DON'T mean trying to cheat the system and shove in more than is appropriate - but I think it's worth playing around with.

Non running day today - yoga and Pilates. Otherwise pretty lazy. Can't decide what to do tomorrow, final day of the holiday...
