Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I had five ballot places between 2006 and 2015, very lucky. How come your friend didn’t get a place under the five rejections scheme, folkieb?

I think the five rejections qualifier stopped a few years ago. I got in that way in 2007.

No, I meant if she’s entered the ballot every year since 2002, why didn’t she get a place in 2007 and 2013? Or did I misunderstand what you meant?

It was stopped in 2010. I guess she must have missed a year or two out. Or knowing her, back in those days, didn’t open the letter 🤦🏼‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️

I didn’t enter the 2009 one (and so missed the 5 rejections thing) but I’ve entered every other year since 2007 without getting in. I don’t expect to get in for next year either.

I got in with my first entry in 2013. I didn't enjoy the noise, didn't have a particularly good event but keep entering the ballot despite preferring to be on the Fetchpoint side of the barriers. I have no idea why!

I did 2012 by having 5 rejects before then so it must have stopped after 2010

I came across the actual email in my archive the other day. It was in April 2010 that they ended the scheme, but if you had rejects from 2009 and 2010, you could continue the sequence and eventually claim your place.
