I can stay quite toasty in a long sleeved merino top and my OMM waterproof and I feel the cold badly. I agree, eight hours of wet and cold would be very miserable making. Would your husband meet you somewhere with a change of clothes and a hot drink? Or is it worth considering a couple of loops so you can pop in at home and change?
